While Taverns, which are fondly referred to as Gaadhios in this beautiful state are on the decline, the Taverna Panjim offers a refreshing lifeline to this integral part of Goan society. With its carefully curated décor, tasty Goan cuisine and foot stomping musical entertainment, the Taverna Panjim conjures up a lively ambience that will be enjoyed by all.
Perched against the bar is definitely the place to be. Here you can spot the old giant green glass wine bottles, jugs and barrels that lead to the cellar. All the popular wines and spirits which include Goa’s very own Heritage liquor ‘FENI’ is on display.
The area for the band is easily distinguished by the hanging saxophone.
In the kitchen, the gourmet chef churns out a feast of popular Goan delicacies to savour and tickle your gastronomic taste buds. This includes Beef Roulade, Goan Feijoada, Chicken Cafreal and much more.
From the wall fixtures, to the plugs, lighting, chairs and tables everything brings back nostalgic memories of Golden Goa. In fact the only modern amenity is the Plasma screen.
