AKADEMIA Brewing Company opened the doors to its culinary brewpub in Athens, Georgia, this October! It is our hope that this concept will become synonymous with the Classic City by drawing inspiration from the long history of a community established and thriving off the foundation of higher education.
Situated in northeast Georgia, Athens is home to the University of Georgia — the nation's first state-chartered public university — and the birthplace of the American system of public higher education. Athens has grown to become nationally recognized as the epitome of a classic college town, and adopted the nickname "Classic City." It is here that ABC decided to build the foundation for our company, with full intentions of bringing to market a brand and products that are worth of the association with such a storied, rich history.
